A Body Detox Diet: A Healthier, More Vibrant You in 5 Steps

A body detox diet or cleanse is becoming more widely practiced, especially by people who reach the limits of what the medical profession can do for them.

The crux of the matter is that your body, with its trillions of cells, is self-healing. When you cleanse and stop overworking it with the standard diet, it quickly responds.

How long should a body detox diet be?

You want to consider planning for at least 3 weeks. This will give your body time to complete the all-important first cleansing cycle. It will also help you to form a new habit that will help continue to help you in months to come.

A healthier you in just 5 key steps:

1 -- No cleanse will work without good hydration. Dehydration is the result of not drinking enough water. Sounds simple, but most people don't get enough water. You need to drink half your weight in fluid ounces, it's best to use filtered water.

2 -- Your body ph is on the alkaline side and your body detox diet is not complete without adding a lot of organic green vegetables. In contrast to the acid forming processed foods, you will find vegetables are almost always alkaline.

3 -- Maximize raw organic food. Multiple studies have shown the number of white blood cells rise when cooked food is eaten. This is the same reaction the body has to disease. Help yourself through the cleanse with a body detox diet of raw and organic vegetables.

4 -- Try drinking only fresh made juices from green vegetables once a week during your cleanse. This is much more doable than long juice fasting and just as effective.

5 -- Moving beyond a detox diet, well, you need to move. Resistance training with weights is one of the best ways to move your muscles, build strength and eliminate the toxins. But even getting out and walking is great. Get hot and sweaty and help your body eliminate the toxins.

When you are cleansing, your body will be eliminating toxins that have been stored, sometimes for years. Think of all the ways you eliminate.

The body eliminates through all the exits it can find, including the all the skin and the nose. When we define a runny nose as being "sick", we try hard to stop it and in fact hamper the body from completing the process

It's up to you to make your process as easy as possible. You will move through the body detox diet easily and quickly and feel great. Just keep staying well hydrated while you move your body.
