Who says that a thrifty life is one where you can't enjoy even the basic necessities of life? Such people are commonly referred to as misers in our society. They are also called as penny pinchers. But most of us don't ever realize the fact these people are far more happier than any of us. They live more fulfilled and secure lives than most of us do.
The point is that each and every one of us who thinks like that is utterly wrong and has no clue about what bliss the life of such a penny wise person is. These so called stingy people are basically more wise than most of us. They have learnt through their experiences in life about where to spend their money and where not to spend it.
They wait for the best deal and the discount season to make their purchases. They have mastered the art of being patient in matters pertaining to buying what they need. These people always wait and get the best deals and bargains because they are never in a hurry. And most importantly, these people have understood the basic fact of life that every penny saved is every penny earned.
Such thrifty people always have more spare and leisurely time in life than we do because while their needs are limited, they also need lesser money to fulfill them. Therefore, they need to work less to run their lives resulting in more free time.
They know the real value of having enough cash in hand. Frugal people know that you get the best deal only when you have enough cash to purchase anything you want instantly cash down. After all, very few dealers can resist the greens on the table. The habit of buying everything in cash will also ensure that you buy only what you need and what you can afford. And over a period of time it becomes a habit and even you have enough money in the bank you don't buy anything on impulse. Your decision making with respect to what you should buy and what you shouldn't becomes much more logical and very little emotional. You are not worth your clothes or the items in your wardrobe but only the savings that you have in your bank.
To become a frugal person is not an impossible task. It may be difficult but definitely not impossible. Try to talk to your close ones about it and let them know that you want to become one. Go step by step. The first step towards becoming a frugal person could be to repay all your debts and credit card bills. Throw away all of them once everything has been settled. Then try to save a little money every week and put it into a bank account. Slowly this will become a habit.
It is not difficult to become a thrifty person. And it's not a bad idea to talk it out with your parents before you decide to embark upon a lifelong journey to becoming one. And the first things that you concentrate upon is saving little money every day and paying off all your debts and parting with every credit card that you have. A thrifty life can always be very enjoyable because you'll always be free from financial woes and therefore have a peaceful life.
